The Labour and Solidarity Party (Portuguese: Partido de Trabalho e Solidariedade) is a political party in São Vicente, Cape Verde. The party is led by Aníbal Medina.
The party was founded by Onésimo Silveira in November 1998.[1]
In the 2001 legislative election, the party was part of the Democratic Alliance for Change coalition that won 6.12% of the popular vote and 2 out of 72 seats in the National Assembly. Jorge Carlos Fonseca, the candidate of the alliance in the February 2001 presidential elections, won 3.9 % of the vote.
At the last municipal elections in 2004, PTS got 2,472 votes (11.30%) in the election to the municipal council of São Vicente. It got one out of nine seats. In the elections to the municipal assembly it got 2,367 votes (10.82%) and two out of 21 seats.[2] In the municipal assembly the party is represented by Isaías R. Rodrigues (fraction leader) and Arlindo Porfírio S. Fonseca.
